If you’re missing the fervor and chatter of My Dog’s Face, don’t fret. We’ve got another pet-related competition for you, Orange County.

Through Oct. 23, all pets in Halloween costumes are welcome to get their owners to enter photos in the Passionate Pet Halloween Costume Contest.

Twelve finalists who live in Orange County – six based on highest number of online votes and six based on judges’ picks – will vie for best costume.

The best costumed pet will be chosen by “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan and Sukhee Kang, the mayor of Irvine.

Prizes for finalists include:

• Pet photo displayed on the Passionate Pet Paw of Fame;
• Play & Stay packages for pairs of tickets to Disneyland,
• Knott’s Berry Farm or the San Diego Zoo while your pet stays at Passionate Pet;
• $500 Passionate Pet gift card;
• and a two-night stay at La Quinta with a round of golf (expires Nov. 30).

Finalists also will be showcased in a 2010 pet calendar and published in the Life section of the Register on Nov. 2.
