*We’ve update this post, as of Nov. 6., to say thanks to an eagle-eyed reader who points out the bird photographed is likely a white-tailed kite. Thanks for noticing!

Greg Clark of Mission Viejo sent us this fantastic shot of an eagle staring down a pesky crow last spring. He writes:

This picture was taken in April of a young bald eagle perched in a tree in our back yard in Mission Viejo. It stayed there for about an hour while the crows tried to make it leave.
