The holiday sweaters are upon us. Expect to see grown men and women sporting garish concoctions of red, white, and green anytime now.
We’d rather not see the sweaters at all, but if they’re as stylish as the one seen on Wolf, above, then we’ll give you a free pass.
Wolf is a Havanese (the national dog of Cuba) and is owned by siblings Evan, 10, and *Alana, 14, Mouchard of Irvine. The pup is sporting a stylish sweater by Lands End (and a puppy cut).
(*Alana weighs in to correct her father, ahem, an editor here at The Register. She’s 15, folks. Journalists, for the record, stink at math … )
Pet owners, we want pictures of your critters in their best holiday wear. We’ll post your photos here at Pet Tales daily. Readers can vote for favorites and top pets get to share bragging rights.

Recent animal news:
Dear pet owners,
Please don’t humiliate your pets any more than they already are.
They are NOTyour long-lost children.
They do NOT like your little outfits.
They ARE pack animals that want to view you as the alpha dog. It makes them feel more secure and happy to know that you’re really not so dumb as to treat them like the little cr@p-machines that human babies are.
Now, now, Logic. Go find your sense of humor. Nobody’s harming their pet by putting a sweater on their back. Let’s have a little bit of fun in a world full of dreary news, eh?
My dog loves her sweaters. She’s sensitive to hot and cold since she’s part Chihuahua, so the extra layer keeps her warm in the cold weather. She gets excited any time we bring out a sweater or dress. Every dog has a different personality. Apparently your dog is uptight.
Wolfman (pictured) loves his sweater, he gets cold in the morning
.
Oh, and Dad, I’m fifteen - not fourteen.
Alana, your Dad apparently wants you to be a little kid forever! I’m updating the post now with your correct age!!
This is a fairly handsome dog, though he doesn’t look particularly intelligent. I’m guessing his owners walk him (cough, cough) enough, and don’t spoil him by mixing chicken or meatballs into his dry food and such…
If there’s a Grandmother-type involved, she probably lays down the law and prevents that sort of thing.
But this is just an educated guess. I would have no idea.
I think some dogs especially the little ones need a sweater from time to time. I believe there are certain breeds that appreciate the warmth on a chilly day. The thing I can’t handle is the costumes. All the best wishes for your photo contest.

Hi Samantha, love the idea! Also check out AnimalsDressedasHumans.com for some great photos of pets dressed up.
This is a pet contest for the holidays, keeping spirits up. Whether the animal is in attire, or a costume, it is for such a brief time. I’m sure Cesar Milan wouldn’t mind a few laughs from his furry friends. If your comment includes a bit of a scrooge reaction, then I ask, “Why are you on here?”
Enough said.
