When you weigh several tons and you’re missing those essential thumbs, filing the toenails is no easy feat.
(Oh yes, pun intended.)
Such was the case for (big ol’) Boy, an elephant living in Kiev, Ukraine. The 39-year-old pachyderm had let his nails grow to excessive lengths (curse those fancy French pedicures!), so experts were hailed from Munich and a massive undertaking was launched.
Let’s cut Boy’s nails!
Make that grind Boy’s nails. Boy’s jumbo-Dumbo feet were numbed and he went down like a brick house. There, the itty-bitty humans got busy with grinders and sanders, working in groups to get all those tough bits back to normal.
